Senior meals at City Hall
Elder Care serves a hot noon meal at Dodge City Hall for seniors 60 and older, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 11:30 AM Mountain Time. The suggested contribution is $5.00 a meal for participants over 60 and $10.50 under 60; any additional donation is welcome and EBT/SNAP is accepted. A meal participant assessment is required.
To sign up for a meal, call Darline at City Hall, (701) 846-7330 — reservations are taken at least one day in advance. Elder Care can also provide 5 meals per week if they are needed; call Elder Care at (701) 456-1818 or toll free (888) 994-1818.
When you receive your meal, eat it or refrigerate it. Substitutions are sometimes made depending on what is available, and frozen meals are provided.
Every meal provides at least 3 ounces of protein, three half-cup servings of fruit and vegetables, two servings of grain and a serving of milk. The printed menu sheets:
The events Dodge holds every year
These come around on the calendar. Exact dates are set each year and posted by the city and the clubs that run them.
Easter egg hunt
The Community Club and Sunshine Club hunt at the auditorium, kids split into age groups — a prize and a goodie bag for every child, and one Easter basket winner per group.
Movie night & potluck at the park
Summer evenings at the city park — an inflatable screen on the grass, pulled pork and sloppy joes provided by the city, and everyone brings a side dish or dessert.
City-wide yard sale
A summer Saturday, 8 AM–2 PM MT. Sign up with City Hall to have your address on the map; lunch is available at the C-Store.
Sausage & sauerkraut supper
A fall Saturday at the auditorium — supper 4–6 PM MT, then bingo and a turkey shoot 6–10 PM MT, sponsored by the Dodge Community Club. Children under eight eat free.
Old Fashioned Christmas & Halloween
December at the auditorium: supper, Santa at 6, hay rides and homemade ice cream. On Halloween the auditorium is a warm-up stop for hot chocolate and treats — porch light on if you're handing out candy.
